Timing...

...is everything.

There is a distinct, unlikely yet present prossibility that I won't be able to make Renewal. The International Union of Crystallographers (the Big Society in our field) is holding its massive, week-long, triennial meeting in Madrid on that very same weekend.

I blagged not going to a smaller conference last year so I could get ranted at, fail to monster, have some exquisite IC abuse thrown at me, watch my charge get shivved up, and walk out of a faction vowing never to return. Unfortunately, that makes it sort of my turn to stay around this time and miss out on playing a new guy in a new faction, as part of a close-knit group doing the only choreographed stuff that ever happens in LARP.

I'd rather stand in a field waving my arms around and chanting than go to Madrid, in August, stay in a posh hotel and eat for free. Do I need to re-evaluate my priorities, or are they precisely where they should be?

Will you be at the other CP events this year?

I plan to be, though we're doing it one event at a time. This might still all go horribly wrong horribly quickly.
