"You Want Us To Do What? To Who...
Jan. 8th, 2006 12:15 am...and he's in a what?"
So ran the questions that Tiny, Benedict and Springs asked the Johnson last night, amidst his request for us to steal a member of Renraku's board of directors from his motorcade, and deliver him in an undamaged state in return for a net payment of forty-five thousand Nuyen each.
Contrary to my belief that we were all going to die, we went about our business and pulled it off - of sorts.
After Tiny and Benedict drilled under the road and planted explosives, we blew them up as the front car of the motorcade drove over them, piling it into the hole where the road used to be. Benedict then neurostun grenaded the limo, outright killing the drone rigger in the front seat and casuing his surveillance drone to drop out of the sky like a stone. Tiny pulled off the shot of the evening as with his last round of his shotgun, he put the slug through the boot of the back sedan and into the side of one of the bodyguards who had just picked up assault rifles. Springs finally got to autocannon something, namely the front car and it's respective inhabitants, and we then attached the limo to the helicopter with a magnetic grapple line, picked it up and flew away. Whole job lot, thirty seconds from the boom. All good.
Unfortunately, even Renraku have the means to respond to things like this, and we'd barely left Spring's hangar where we'd transferred the guy from the limo to Benedict's van (after scenting him with Jasmine - don't ask) when a couple of gunships hovered over and shot the place - as well as Tiny's brand new bike - to pieces. When he heard about this, Tiny went to a bar and beat a random annoying elf to death.
Get over it, pointy.
Excellent game - I think Steve had a laugh as well, and everyone got a lot richer out of it. Caroline and Emma found it funny as well, so much so that they were moved to tidy the lounge the following morning (I don't get it either), and we managed to persuade the former to finally come to a larp. Now all we need is for it not to rain, and it'll have been quite a good weekend.
