...in various ways.

I hate arguing with my parents. I really do. Especially when I have no answers to give them, as was the case when I spoke to them on thursday and they asked why I hadn't signed on after three days of being unemployed, and being in the red.
This sutuation has since been rectified. Applications for various sundry jobs and registration with temping agency dealt with. JSA being claimed. This pleases them. I'll be pleased when I'm actually employed.

Warhammer last Monday was a slight anticlimax, as we all came to Emma's final roleplay session with excitement over exactly how Jon was going to go about getting Alaina out of the party without killing her. Turns out Jon had expected Emma to come up with a reason and had no plot to do so with himself. We did manage to set loose a greater chaos daemon and cause Pieter to fall hopelessly in love with Alaina (via insanity, rather than Cupid's arrow), but not to give Alaina a reason to no longer be present. Emma and I are working on Pieter being overly protective and sending her back to the safety of Altdorf so she doesn't get hurt, but it's shaky at best. Alaina is perfectly capable of defending herself, so it would be a slight character kink if we followed it. Meh.

Saturday's character gen session provided us with six newbies, all of which obviously wanted to be there as they didn't get the welcome email (clerical error) and still showed up on the basis of what was on the flyer. They all seem likely to stay, and a couple who got the recent email have replied already, so they may well be keen enough to do so as well. A smaller, more intimate gen session is scheduled for Saturday in 8W2.10 if anyone wants to come along.

Sunday's LARP involved the first party-on-party fight of the year, where Tempest kicked off on Carver for not treating her with what she thought was the respect she deserved. As far as I'm concerned, Emma followed the restrictions of her class perfectly, and added further fuel to my long running wonder of why amazons, barbarians, druids and anyone else not predisposed to do as they're told on missions is let anywhere near Barony patrols. But that's been done to death, so lets not do it again.
The newbies appeared to have fun, and to be coming back, both of which are good news, but I didn't see much of them in action on the LARP itself. I don't put this down to the older players hogging all the limelight - I don't think they would - but instead to the new players still learning what this whole live roleplay thing is all about and what they should be doing. Hoping to see a natural improvement over the next couple of weeks. By accounts, several genuine characters were on display, no doubt by virtue of their being played by people who were proactive in getting them created, and bode well for the future.

Slight possibility of four, well, three and a half druids in the party this Sunday. Carver will be driven mad by our selectively ignoring his orders. We should probably be banned from patrols. We won't be.
