...and other associated guff.

So, the Emoholics Anonymous meeting that has become the make up of high level parties in recent times transported The Scarecrow (Anarchy Priest) to Oakham/Arkham/Arcanum Asylum, whereupon they met The Puffin (Avianomancer), Lady Foxglove (Dark Druid), The Questioner (Temple Aligned Freedom Priest - yes, you slotted a Seeker), someone with a bad Austrian accent who definitely wasn't Mr. Freeze (Water Mage), Kitten Girl and various other named lunatics that just about won't get us sued. Wards keeping the inmates in fell down while the party was inside, the automatic defence systems actived (extremely good use of a spell prime in a "real world" situation), and they were trapped in the asylum with people even more loopy than them. Avatar of Anarchy - who definitely wasn't Two-Face, Mr. DC Comics - decides he doesn't like not being able to walk through walls and breaks the asylum into dust (good use of common sense to get us out onto the field in the gathering darkness). Cue absurdity with puffins who definitely weren't squawking "mock", a lich who didn't seem to be hurting people and skeletons being waded through like the unintelligent waves they should be. I like the idea of powerful players getting to feel powerful once in a while by being able to knock down low level crap in one go, be it with a dart, a destroy or simple violence, but you can only do it with a monster party of decent enough size to keep the waves coming.
Apparently, Matt Hobbitv2 produced a fantastic performance as The Scarecrow and made various characters feel genuinely uncomfortable, precisely what I feel an anarchy priest should be doing, to the point of making their captors kill him or themselves to get away. I managed to muck up three times in my attempt to make everything The Questioner said a question of some sort, but was quite surprised when I was slotted from all sides simply because I'd invited a couple of daemons to the matieral plane to help me escape (or had I? Are you sure?). The party did, strangely enough, manage to function, despite emotions apparently running higher than the hemp tent on the third day of Glastonbury. Maybe they were all running from their personal lives so much that they were glad to focus on something else. Who knows.
Certain players telling me what my stats were was quite annoying, especially as they stated that which I already knew, or asserted the incorrect. A simple "are you sure" or "what does that do" would have sufficed, the way that newbies are asked to question something they don't agree with or understand.

I submitted the UM entry on Sunday night, having finished it on Saturday and run it through four editing sessions. I get the feeling that if I ever were to take part in NaNoWriMo then a third of my plot is around about done right there. Charminglybeef put his up on Monday and the game is very much on - forfeits discounted, currently only one matchup has a runaway winner, and that ain't mine. This one's going to go down to the wire on Friday afternoon. The fact that I'm even holding a candle to such an exalted opponent is a very pleasing surprise, and I can only hope Caroline is faring as well against the tournament favourite.

I still await employment. The Inland Revenue have not replied to me yet, though they did say it would probably be towards the end of the week if it was a yes. Adecco continue to be my only source of potential income, which still hasn't been supplanted by the now sizeable lump sum that Her Majesty's Government owe me. Just over a month since I claimed. HSBC continues to raise an eyebrow quietly in the background, not as far as hurrumphing yet but on their way if things continue in the current manner. Really very annoying all round.

Emma remains hard working day in, day out, even on Saturdays. I wish I had her work ethic. Moreover, I with my supervisor had her work ethic. Then, I might have some work I could be doing.
