Never Again Will I Share My Ideas...

...with people from other committees.

Not only do BUST ape my idea for a flying gobo scanning round the parade to advertise their show, they then plug it as being "the ones responsible for it" in the first place. Great thing for friends to do, really.

I'll be keeping my ideas to myself in future.

who said that? It's possible when caroline suggested it to the rest of them she didn't say where the idea came from... it's also possible that they had thought of it at around the same time as you...? Not unheard of - corporate bods like Delloite have done similar things on campus before, I believe.

I find it overly co-incidental that I mention it at home and in committee meetings that BUSMS were planning on goboing the parade, and next thing we know, I hear from third parties about the cool idea BUST had to gobo the parade.

Now I can't do it for Sweet Charity lest we get cries of "copycat".

I got scooped - I'm not sure whether to be more angry at BUST for doing it, or myself for letting it slip.

ok that's more likely that people have seen the gobo, figured out (or been told) what it was advertising and thought it was a good idea, rather than BUST going out of their way to say it was their idea. I doubt you'd get called a copycat, I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of them in future. It *is* a great idea.

Then why did a member of BUST plug the show in the GASP rehearsal, citing exactly what I previously mentioned in speech marks?

The idea is now unoriginal and will have been done before in the eyes of the student populace. To do it now would be viewed as the BUSMS publicity department have no ideas of their own.
