...or how I learned to stop worrying and love Sorin Carn. The dude is great, and in a snap became one of the most accomplished riders the world has ever seen.

Thursday night's karaoke was the first one Emma had attended and she seemed to enjoy it at least a little - which is a good thing, because if she hadn't I'd have stopped going. I met her brother Joe, and he seemed pleasant enough as well, so that bodes well for the rest of the family when I get round to meeting them - if two of them are good (well, if one of them rocks the house and the other's pretty good) maybe the rest will be as well (we live in hope) - and according to her, he thinks I'm alright as well, so I think we can call that a good evening in all cases.
My singing was alright, but as it was Emma's first time I made sure I did songs that I knew I wouldn't get wrong so she could listen to my voice rather than my stumbling. Thankfully, she enjoyed that as well. Told you it was a good night.

Friday night's Shadowrun culminated in Tiny making over two hundred thousand Nuyen by selling the equipment of Jon's newly-genned but now dead character to his fixer. I think Jon took it very well, as the previous week he had had his first choice character entirely fucked-over by Tim for being a powerful and highly-statted character. Tim had been taking things away from him since the start of the campaign and managed to strip him of his accommodation, vehicle, weaponry and clothes and turf him out buck-naked onto the street. Jon gave up and genned Twitch, who promptly got himself killed in a conventional manner and left six drones behind. Tiny smelled money and sold them. Roll on next week when what was originally Twitch before he was restatted as a drone rigger comes out under the name of Jitters and decks his way into Fort Knox. Unless Tim decides to relieve him of his deck. And his house. And his clothes.

Saturday saw what is fast becoming a weekly highlight as we congregated at Adrian & Dori's for the Exalted game. Heading towards this giant manse that we were pointed at, we encountered a fey who wanted us to go and fetch him a magical shard from God knows where in return for passage through his territory. Sorin was negotiating away, as per his Caste, when Ranek decided he didn't like the way things were going, summoned a demon and pointed it at the fey. We were quickly allowed access to his lands in return for the demon not killing everyone present and then going on to make the fey extinct in this area. Sorin will now not talk to Ranek, because he ruined his thing, and they are currently traveling through the Wild encountering things like three-horned furry rhinos and deer with six legs.

Fighting against a pair of these rhinos was where Sorin became a more accomplished rider.

Charging the charging rhino, Sorin moved to showjump it, and in the act, jumped out of the saddle, giving himself something like ten or twelve feet of descent - sword outstretched, anima flaring and cobra striking - straight onto the rhino's head, causing it no end of pain. The horse landed safely and so did Sorin, briefly taking a seat on the rhino's horns before jumping backwards and performing a somersault and almost-correct landing as it crashed to the ground, finished-off at the hands of Afina's bow.

Damn, I love being Exalted. Roll on next week.

Right, time to head to the pub and wish Dori happy birthday. Hopefully everyone didn't get too soaked.
