De La Hoya is the same kind of fighter, but he's a lot more ring savvy than Hatton, and lands cleaner punches with less power. Hatton punches like a ten stone freight train - if he can pin his victims down for a couple of seconds and properly tee off, forget about it (watch him get in Castillo's face (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc6gBHMpLa4) from around 1:50 onwards, from Youtube. Castillo didn't get up). I hope his having approximately fifteen kilograms of testicles will make the difference that De La Hoya hadn't got, but I'm not sure.
I don't know if Floyd knows how to catch someone hard. The only time I've seen evidence of his doing so was against Arturo Gatti, who didn't exactly present a difficult target and has a head like a sponge. I worry about Ricky's eyebrows though - they've had him bleeding many times, and Floyd punches inch perfect. It won't take him much to land a couple early on and start the blood flowing.
Word is that Ricky's finally started bellying up to him (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7130030.stm) in press conferences. Floyd doesn't like it, but the press do. Not sure how a ten stone guy who is shorter than me can look deathly ominous, but he genuinely managed it. Saturday night's going to be great, regardess of who wins. Only radio, but it'll have to do.
