Today At Work...

...I found I was the only member of my branch who could name all four houses at Hogwarts.

I feel dirty.

I don't read as much as I wish to (due to textbooks, programming etc.) but I know the four houses. Oh dear :(.

Are you going to the kit fair tomorrow? Just curious as I am planning on going to see if there is a weapon I can get.

There's a lot of worse things to know, and they are practically ingrained pop culture these days.

I'll be more worried if you can name the house colours and ghosts.

Nearly Headless Nick (G), the Bloody Baron(S), the Fat Friar (H), and the Grey lady (R)

Colours I am less certain on (Red and gold G, Silver and green S, Yellow and something H, and Blue and something R)

You ARE the magic addict. :-)

One of the reasons I don't like Harry Potter...

[identity profile] copper13.livejournal.com 2010-02-12 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
How did it come up in conversation?

[identity profile] magicaddict.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The branch's staff are currently split into two teams, each one trying to get more sales of financial services products than the other for the week.

I know.

They were trying to decide on team names, and the branch manager suggested Hogawarts houses, which fell flat when they realised that no-one knew what they were. I don't think I've said anything so timidly in my life. Words cannot describe how much I hate Harry Potter.

We ended up with Superheros vs Supervillains. Having to pick a superhero name, I told them The Fury was an obscure comic book reference. It just happened to be my general state of mind at the time.

That is shameful for your coworkers.

[identity profile] magicaddict.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's more shameful for me that I could name them all.

[identity profile] pureferret.livejournal.com 2010-02-16 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope the shame is on them!
