...it's not just a small proportion of people who blame rape victims.

As the survey says, more than half the country's at it.

It depresses me less that this attitude exists than the fact that if you look at some of the numbers (and some of the comments on the article by victims and relations thereof), people who actually blame the perpetrator are in a very significant minority indeed.

I hate my country sometimes.

I( have to partially agree with the survey, with the Caveat that it takes none of the blame from the perpetrator....

It's a very alarmist headline- reading the article, people were agreeing to that with conditions attached, like getting into bed with the rapist. But what it seems to point towards is that if they didn't batter the word "NO" into the forehead of the perpetrator with a hammer then the victim brought it on her/himself :-(
