...to anyone who became concerned OOC when Watcher went AWOL at the end of Sunday's game.

Yes, sorry about that. It was IC to run that far, but not particularly sensible. I would like to avoid worrying people in the future, but similarly would like (if possible) not to rule out disappearing off again if it is IC to do so.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how these two could be reconciled? Can they be? Or, in the name of people's sanity, should I try to kerb it slightly?

A difficulty with that is that I don't feel comfortable taking my phone on a LARP. I have enough money in my kit without risking a £250 piece of equipment that I don't really need to.

If you are saying this as a GM, I will take it out on games in the future, but my first concern, at that point, will be the safety of my phone. After all things are considered, it may be easier for me not to run off so far instead.

Genuinely, I am sorry to put such store in material things.

Fair point - my phone isn't worth, well, much of anything, so I have no concern for it at all.

Put a reasonable time limit on it - take a slightly OOC push on the situation that if you've been driven off by a 15 minute effect, find an excuse to return to the area of the party promptly once the 15 mins are up. Then I can get to the end of the fight and if the party are unable to find you I can start worrying about 5-10 minutes later.

It was an unfortunate spot to catch someone who roleplays fear really well - but I do /not/ want to stop you roleplaying fear really well.
