Aug. 24th, 2010 01:56 pmThis is directed to all those who have been asking Emma about her plans for our wedding. Thank you for your enthusiasm, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you a favour.
Emma is already extremely stressed by the idea of getting married, and to have a fairly constant stream of questions from multiple sources, often overlapping each other, is driving her half crazy, and making her reconsider whether or not it is worth her time and effort. As a result, we have never been closer to not having a wedding in the past six months than we are right now, because everyone keeps asking her (and only her, it seems) questions about it.
No, I'm neither joking nor exaggerating. I am completely serious. It's gotten that bad.
Given missing out on a wedding will mean we don't get what we actually want (i.e. a marriage), I would quite like to avoid this. Thus, please allow the following public service announcement to stand in place of any definitive answer to any quesitons anyone thinking of asking them may wish to pose.
No decisions have yet been made. We don't know the answers to any of your questions. We won't know them for a while yet.
I am curious as to why she has been seen as the only source of information on how the preparations are progressing - I would like to think I maintain a fairly healthy online and public presence, and yet have experienced none of the...well, let's tell it like it is...hounding that Emma has incurred. Curiously enough, we're in this together, and what Emma knows, there's a fair chance I will know too (and, of course, the opposite is also true). Please ask yourselves why it's always been her - the female member of our partnership - that you've always gone after for information, before asking only her again.
