Going On MSN In Three...

...and have they finally, after all my requests, decided to actually treat me like a human being?
I took my first design for the T-Shirt logo to Aimée last night, and after looking at it for a moment, she replied with, "I like the overall design, but this font looks messy this small. Could it be changed for something clearer?"
I received an both honest opinion and a directed unequivocal request in the space of two sentences, without any ego massaging, umming and ahhing or "It's really really great, but..." lines. After weeks of committee bullshit, it felt like Christmas. I've tried to put some clearer ones on the design now and we'll see how those go down.
I'm still waiting for the promotional image of Emma's feet to make the inordinately long journey from the ICIA's computers to my inbox. I always thought that in any given working partnership, it was the student element that was supposed to be the one slacking off, yet here I am, playing TCM2004 in the evenings (EQ2? With my computer limping along the way it currently is? Yeah, right) and waiting for it to show up so I can produce posters, flyers and the proof for the program front (now definitely going to be sixteen pages - the program, not the front). If it isn't here by Friday I'm going to start sending tetchy emails up the hill and see how diplomatically they respond.
I'm looking forward in a sick kind of way to when Evenstar lets it be known at a Unicorns event that she's engaged, and to someone Rhinyn doesn't know to boot - it'll be good practice for the "just been poleaxed in the chest but can't let it show" situation that happens quite a lot in dramatic theatre. Suffice to say, Rhinyn might well get severely drunk that night, and possibly killed. We'll see how it goes.
I am hovering all over the gearbox of the last-but-one thing I need to complete in order to have a good PhD (and potential postdoc). If the crystals currently sitting in my fume hood are what I expect them to be, all I need to do is co-crystallise them with something I've already produced and I'll be invoking the Watson-Crick celebratory roar in honour of my own little area of their investigation.
Best get isolating them.
