...and other good luck charms associated with the first of the month and not crashing and burning.
The S-Factor - a popularity contest that last time I entered, dressed like a freak, I did quite well in. Unfortunately, they stopped bothering to update the site a couple of days before my heat, so my glorious world-beating score only goes reported here.
Tonight, however, they get another chance.
The last attempt I made at singing Everything I Do while dressed as Daenaram got me third place in the RAG karaoke competition. The costume looks good for a Robin Hood style character, and the broad epaulettes match the Prince of Thieves jacket quite well. The only things I don't bother with are the ears and eye shadow. That would just make me look silly.
The main problem is how well I can sing it, though.
Previously, I messed up a couple of the high notes and sounded what can only be described as rough when I wasn't smack in the middle of the range. I'm not sure what I'd eaten that day to make me feel so uncomfortable when singing, but I hope it wasn't what I'm eating tonight before I go. Considering that BUSMS currently have me hanging around top As and Bflats for fun, I might stand more of a chance at making the high stuff sound comfortable, and anything low, well, I'll speak it. They want a performance.
All I have to do now is decide how to engage the crowd - and whether or not to ask Elizabeth if I can borrow her bow. It's going to be considerably more difficult than menacing round the bar daemoning anything that looks at me funny, though two of the judges are female and susceptible to power ballads. Might be worth a try - the guy who won in the first week sang his song almost exclusively to the head judge and got unrealistically good marks for doing so.
We'll see how it goes.

Feel free to add me or tell me to naff off as you see fit..
and I'd swear you said explicitly you *didn't* have one of these.
