...but for the fact that I got to go home to Emma each night.

And so to a brief weekend at home - mainly getting my hair cut and possibly watching Joe Calzaghe actually have to fight someone who doesn't fall over when he looks at them. Should be an intersting evening, if I can stay awake for it until the scheduled two in the morning start time. Between that, and drinking with the parents and their friends, it's looking like being fun, but not all that relaxing.
Dad's coming up to Bath to pick me up - mainly because I think he wants to give the "new" car a decent drive. It's been a while since we've had a two litre engine to play with, and I think he's looking forward to the trip. It'll be nice to go up the lakes later this year in a slightly more luxury model than the fleet of Astras we're used to - might even be able to see out of the back.

Last night's RAG karaoke found me with very little motivation to actually enter the competition, but as I wasn't really going to be able to sing without paying, I hopped on board, sang Handbags & Gladrags and promptly came in second. A twenty pound tab at the St. Christopher's Inn isn't exactly the greatest prize in the sport, but it's certainly better than a kick in the teeth. Elizabeth and I still need to practice I Will Love You in time for next week's final S-Factor heat, though after finding out that the first and second placed singers from the solo competition are duetting, we'll be lucky if we can hold on to second. Not having much prospect of winning rather takes the shine off entering in the first place, but it's a song that should be sung in public so I suppose we should do it for that reason if no other. Roll on rehearsal.

And finally, after having spent all week waiting on the Charley's Aunt cast list to come out, it did when I wasn't looking, and I managed to experience myself a first in theatrical productions.

For the first time ever, I have been passed over entirely.

There is no place for me (or for Caroline, for that matter) in the cast whatsoever - which just about does it for shows at Bath Uni. Bit of a damp squib of an ending, but I suppose it means I have more time to spend on the PhD.
