...Rhinyn Morridar, Ranger of Mauritania, Watcher of Mauritania, Champion of the Heartlands. Born March 1082AF, Died May 1106AF.

Fuh-uk...

Just as Rhinyn was creeping up on being a full two years of played age, he managed to catch one too many enchated crushes to the chest and got thrown through a void gate. In the last two hours of his life, he had been informed about the loss of another Pen Cethren member, been invested as a Watcher of Mauritania, named a Champion of the Heartlands for having been part of the third placed team at the games, and decided that life might just be taking off nicely.

Until two void gates opened and elementals by the wagonload poured out.

The first wave got dealt with nicely, but were all global and striking for enchanted crush. Even in my super-twinked out state of single hit, body dev., endurance and mastercrafted light armour, it only took two of them before I was well and truly dropped. By the time the second gate opened, I must have been poleaxed to the ground about seven times before an elemental (rather than a healer) managed to get hold of me, and started dragging me towards the gate. Even with the long route being taken, I was still more or less at the gate before anyone noticed - and by all accounts quite a few people noticed - and it was too late to do anything about it.

Mortal bodies don't survive well in the Void.

I lasted just under two seconds, almost as long as I had against the elder tainted, and joined what must have been approaching a fifty name long list of casualties at this event. I can't complain - Mindstalker personally killed someone on Saturday night and I suppose it was what goes around coming around at last. It does, however, mean that I'm free to monster both moots while I put together Revek, which will provide me with a fair amount of Gold to bring him in with at the Gathering.

I liked Rhinyn - he was the closest character to me that I played, and he ended up being trusted as one of the Unicorn faction's most l33t scoutz. He had the ear of some very powerful people, quite a few good friends in different groups, and some good backplot that I was hoping would one day come back to be put to rest in whichever way it was decided to be. I had hoped he wouldn't die in a ditch somewhere, stabbed up by the tarantulas for a crime he didn't commit, and he did at least manage to avoid that, but it would have been nice to have played a body for a while. Oh well - maybe Meldir will find a suit of green and brown light armour kicking about next time he goes void fishing.

Out with the old, in with the new.

In my head, I see a dashing figure in flaming scarlet and cream, brandishing a firey war axe, smiting evilness and turning heads wherever he goes. It'll probably end up as me, looking like a american football player and getting dropped like a bad habit ten seconds after every mosh kicks off, but I can but dream...

Short of mutual and simultaneous killing blows delivered to me and the uber gribbly I was fighting, I really can't think of a good way to go - who knows, I might get spat out as a daemon.

There are good ways. Being told your pattern has probably just exploded and that you need to go to GOD before you time in again really isn't one of them. :)

If I'm still alive, I'll see if I can prod about and find a body. ;)

Haven't they told you yet? You had to spend half the event OOC because they couldn't confirm or deny what happened after Magic got stabbed up?

Nah, I teleported out with the intention of not going back IC that event as I had too much to do OC, however, still don't know where I am. :) Half the fun though, isn't it? ;)
