...however cursory it may be, I will do so.
Longer update after the weekend probably, with less important news. For now, however...
Thirteen years ago, at the age of twelve, I decided I wanted to be a doctor of chemistry. I put this down to a teacher named Claire Lloyd, who lit a pile of potassium dichromate during a science lesson when I was eight. It promptly changed colour and doubled in size (as it is wont to do upon oxidation).
As soon as I realised what a PhD was, I wanted one.
I walked home on monday afternoon unable to stop crying. I put this down to a professor named Alan Bassindale, who opened the door of the internal examiner's office after holding a brief discussion with him, invited me back in and told me that I won't have to wait much longer.
On the eleventh of December, pending corrections, I finally get the doctorate I started thirteen years ago.
Some things really are worth waiting for.
